Preschool Closing Teacher
The Preschool Closing Teacher at Amazing Explorers Academy plays a crucial role in implementing the AEA curriculum and fostering a nurturing environment for preschool-aged children. This position ensures the smooth conclusion of each preschool day while maintaining high standards of educational quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
Implement the AEA curriculum, engaging children in developmentally appropriate activities.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
Complete necessary paperwork including daily notes, accident reports, and attendance records.
Attend staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as required.
Supervise and assist children during activities, ensuring their well-being and positive behavior.
Provide guidance and counseling for social, academic, or adjustment issues.
Plan and execute lesson plans, programs, and schedules aligned with curriculum goals.
Prepare instructional aids and materials to enhance learning experiences.
Assist with meal times and cleanup responsibilities.
Ensure classroom equipment is well-maintained and used correctly.
Arrange the classroom to support defined interest areas.
Direct other staff in maintaining order and following academy policies.
Communicate effectively with parents, maintaining developmental profiles and providing updates on child progress.
Schedule and conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss child development and improvement areas.
Manage classroom bulletin boards and family information displays.
Follow medication schedules and protocols as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned by academy management.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years old.
DCF (Department of Children and Families) 45 hours of training in Early Childhood Education.
High School Diploma or equivalent; CDA (Child Development Associate) or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Previous experience working in an accredited early childhood facility is advantageous.
