MUST BE CERTIFIED

The Preschool Education Coordinator/Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum in the classroom and for supervising and managing children in the classroom. Must supervise assistant teachers and children in their room ensuring activities and curriculum are adhered to as required by the Director. Conduct assessments of children to indicate growth and areas of improvement, as well as hold formal meetings with parents. Guide other team members in understanding Amazing Explorers Academy policies, procedures, and expectations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained

-Completes all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports

-Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested

-Helps and supervises children during all activities

-Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise

-Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules

-Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities

-Helps children with meal times and clean-up

-Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly

-Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas

-Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner

-Communicates appropriate information to parents and maintains developmental profiles for children

-Schedules and conducts parent/teacher conferences throughout the year

-Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards

-Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed

-Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Must be at least 21 years old

Group teacher in an infant/toddler program. A group teacher for an infant/toddler program

shall be at least 21 years of age and have the following qualifications:

(1) Associate's (AA or AS) degree in early childhood education; or

(2) Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and a study plan leading to an

associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years; or

(3) BA in Early Childhood Education

Department leading to nine credits in early childhood education or childhood development within two years; and a study plan leading to an associate's degree in early childhood education within seven years, if currently employed in a permitted child care program.

-Must possess a Bachelor's in Early childhood education or equivalent certification accepted by State Department of Education

-Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality

-Highly professional and dependable

-Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour
